The Department of Andrology at Al-Ahli Hospital provides medical services to address a range of sexual health, fertility needs in a private, sensitive environment. Through this department, several married couples have successfully been given the chance to solve their sexual or fertility problems despite the complexities of their cases.

Andrology & Sexual Health Unit:

The Andrology Unit concentrates on sexuality, responsiveness and understanding of sexual health. The primary focus of this unit is to provide health services concerning impotence, sexually-transmitted diseases and male sexual dysfunction using the most recent non-invasive device for impotence diagnosis, erectile dysfunction caused by D.M., hypertension and psychological stress. The latest drugs used for intracorporeal injection are also available (PGE1 and Quadmix) as a service for diagnosis and treatment of vasculogenic impotence. In addition, the unit provides treatment of pre-mature ejaculation, desire problems, and pre-marital screening.

Fertility and Artificial Insemination Unit:

With a cooperative team of gynecologists, andrologist and embryologist, this unit provides the most scientific protocols in the diagnosis and treatment of fertility. This new male infertility management depends on specialized proper evaluation of the male factor by clinical examination for testicular size and checking the presence of varicocele, hormonal profile, scrotal Doppler, and semen analysis, following the standards of the World Health Organization. Different modalities are available in this Unit to manage low sperm count, low sperm motility, increased sperm abnormality and anti-sperm antibodies.

Intrauterine insemination (IUI) service using high quality media preparation techniques (gradient and swim-up techniques) is also offered in this Unit, with a well-equipped Lab, one of the most important factors in giving high success rate pregnancy.
