Work Experience:
Samina has had over twenty years experience in the UK National Health Service, and is registered with the UK Health Profession Council and the Royal College of Speech and Language Therapists. In her last role she was Deputy Head of District Services for Speech and Language Therapy, for a large health care trust (region) in the UK.
She is a well respected clinician with a wide range and depth of clinical and managerial experience. She has designed and developed services to children with special needs and has set up clinics with Pediatricians and other professionals which have made significant improvements to individuals and their families.
Her range of experience has included:
Assessment and treatment of clients with range of communication difficulties such as speech and language delay/disorder, stammering/stuttering and voice therapy.
Assessment and diagnosis of Autistic Spectrum Disorders and allied communication difficulties (Special Needs).
Specialist training for parents and other professionals – PECS, Early Bird Program, More than Words (Hanen approach).
Specialist Therapists for Bilingualism.
Feeding Therapy: Dysphagia trained and accredited. Assess, diagnose and treat eating, drinking and swallowing disorders.
Treating cleft lip and palate.
Managing specialist therapist department and district services.
Samina has an excellent record of working with other professionals and has set up new clinics with pediatricians so that children with communication disorders and autistic spectrum disorders were diagnosed and treated with the most effective input.
