Qatar Insurance Company (QIC) medical insurance policy and medical insurance card holders can avail of medical services at Al Ahli Hospital (AAH) which now joins the QIC medical services provider network in Qatar with the signing of an agreement between the two institutions here yesterday. Abdulwahed Al Mawlawi, Managing Director and CEO of Medicare Group and Al Ahli Hospital and Ali M Al Manai, Deputy CEO of Qatar Insurance Company signed the agreement at a ceremony held at Al Ahli Hospital.

Speaking on the occasion Al Mawlawi said the deal provides the spirit of administrative and business bilateral cooperation between two of the leading local organisations-each in its own business area-in Qatar. He said that clients with QIC medical insurance policies as well as medical insurance cards would be able to benefit from the distinguished medical services available at AHH.

These services are supported by the latest state-of-the art medical equipment and system as well as a team of internationally qualified and highly experienced doctors and physicians; all within the scope of coverage and limitations of the issued insurance policy, he pointed out. With its 250-bed capacity, AHH is Qatars largest private hospital and is also considered one of the largest private hospitals in the region.

Al Mawlawi said that AHH medical staff includes some of the best consultants and specialists, adding that the coming few months, the hospital management plans to open a Cardiac centre, a Psychiatry Department and an IVF centre which would widen the services range on offer under AHH umbrella. He noted that AHH has recently opened its 24 hour a day, 7 days a week Urgent Care Centre (UCC) and it is already running medical services for out-patients, surgical, and in-patient departments in specialties ranging from obstetrics and gynecology, pediatrics, internal medicine to physiotherapy, radiology and laboratory, to name just a few.

AHH medical team currently consists of more than 40 consultants and specialists and the number is expected to grow during the coming few months as new departments are opened and current ones are expanded, said Al Mawlawi.
