The Department of General Surgery, Al Ahli hospital participated in the 4th Annual Gulf Obesity Surgery Society Meeting (GOSS2016), which took place in Kingdom of Bahrain from 30th of November to 2nd of December 2016

Al-Ahli Hospital is participating in the national immunization campaign against measles, mumps and rubella (MMR). The campaign starts from the 17th of October and continues until November 14, targeting the children aged one to 13 years.

Al- Ahli Hospital is set to open a polyclinic in Al Wakra in the fourth quarter of this year as part of the hospital's expansion plans. Mr. Jamal S Hammad Deputy Chief Executive Officer and Director of Projects said, “The facility will serve residents of Al Wakra and we hope to launch it in September/October this year. This is one of our main strategic plans currently being implemented." According to Hammad, the facility is going to be a large polyclinic spread over an area of 4,500 square meters with 13 beds and a care centre that will be open 24x7.

Al-Ahli Hospital has achieved yet another milestone in its pursuit of excellence in guest safety and quality. Last week a team of esteemed surveyors from the Australian Council on Healthcare Standards International (ACHSI), one of the top healthcare accreditation bodies in the world, conducted a planned periodic review. This event marks the two year anniversary since the Hospital achieved full international accreditation under the ACHSI Evaluation and Quality Improvement Program (EQuIP) and provides an opportunity for a team of industry peers to evaluate the continuous quality improvement activities of the hospital over this time.

Al- Ahli Hospital has provided a special mobile App for asthma patients, which will help to monitor their condition. The MY Asthma MD App could be downloaded on a smart- phone for accurate monitoring of asthma.
