Three speakers to deliver in-depth information about the latest in heart care treatment
 
Al-Ahli Hospital will hold its Continuing Medical Education (CME) meeting on 26 September 2010, 9:00 pm at the hospital’s auditorium.
 
Al-Ahli Hospital’s CME program is slated to be held on a monthly basis, whereby the hospital will invite international and local consultants to discuss latest medical issues.  This month’s meeting is also being held in commemoration of World Heart Day, and the CME will feature 3 speakers including Dr. Salim Mohammed who will present on challenges in the management of Unstable Angina (chest pain).

Hospital conducts first heart surgery

Doha’s Al Ahli Hospital has successfully conducted the first cardiac surgery on a Qatari woman who had been suffering from angina for six years.
The four-hour surgery, which involved angiogram and an echocardiogram, was done by the hospital’s team of consultants led by cardiac surgeon Dr Abdulaziz al-Khulaifi, who joined the hospital recently.
The surgery was a unique operation during which the patient’s coronary arteries were bypassed using new vessels taken from her leg as well as an artery dissected from the chest cavity,” Dr al-Khulaifi said at a press conference yesterday.

80,000 new Guests expected

Al-Ahli Hospital yesterday signed a medical services agreement with Al-Koot Insurance and Reinsurance Co. and their partner AXA Insurance - Gulf. The said Agreement would allow all Al-Koot/AXA Medical Insurance Scheme members, mainly employees of Qatar Petroleum and their dependents, to acquire both primary and secondary medical services directly at Al-Ahli Hospital effective on the 15th of November 2009.
