AL AHLI Hospital recently conducted a one-day breast cancer awareness seminar, a spokesperson has said.

Experts discussed topics including "what is breast cancer, its risk factors, breast self examination" to "clinical test for screening and diagnosis of breast cancer", "basics of health diet to reduce the risk of developing breast cancer", "effects of physical activities in prevention of risk factors" and "stigma related to cancer".

For the first time in its history, Al-Ahli Hospital has successfully delivered triplets, hospital sources told Gulf Times yesterday.

The mother, American Belle Vukovich Kenoyer, delivered the babies by Caesarian section. The babies, Aidan James Kenoyer (1.80kg), Brady Allen Kenoyer (2.16kg) and Gavin Dean Kenoyer (2.17kg) were born at 5.59am, 6am and 6.01 am, respectively.

THE Medical Care Group's Al Ahli Hospital yesterday opened a new extension of its emergency department.

The extension, which consists of six additional bed space, brings the total number of beds in the department to 11 plus two existing cardiac beds and one operating theatre.

The managing director and chief executive officer Abdulwahed al-Mawalawi said the section had been planned in such a manner that it gives the patient a homely feeling.

The government's planned National Insurance Scheme will have immense positive implications on private hospitals and Al Ahli Hospital is all set to cope with the expected demand pressure, said Managing Director and CEO, Abdulwahed Al Mawlawi. We do expect that and that is the reason why we are growing exponentially in all fields. We will be doubling our staff in the next six to eight months, said Al Mawlawi at a news conference here yesterday to announce Medicare Group Companys first-half financials.

The Urban Planning and Development Authority (UPDA) already approved construction of the first two additional buildings with two more being planned at the hospital premises.

THE Medicare Group plans to double the capacity of its Al Ahli Hospital to over 500 beds within three years.

The DSM-listed company has received approval from Urban Development & Planning Authority (UPDA) to construct two additional buildings for the hospital, Medicare Group managing director and CEO Abdulwahed al-Mawlawi said yesterday.
